The ark of covenant, the temple of Jerusalem, the brazen serpent, and the cross, are some of the many symbolic tools used in scripture to convey higher spiritual truths of the logos. The parables of Jesus serve in the same manner. The Celestial Church of Christ uses a lot of symbols in its practice. What use are symbols in worship space? Why does God communicate using symbols? Are symbols necessary for spirituality?
