Recording Pop Artist, Singer and Songwriter - Matty Marz
Genre-Bending, Recording Pop Artist, Singer, Songwriter, and Producer Matty Marz joins Christopher live in the studio, for a very special broadcast of The Junk and Jam Hour, as they are the very first in-person interview in over a year.
With music that spans the spectrum of genres – from punk to rock, disco and bubblegum pop, to funk and electronica – Matty brilliantly showcases their inherent gift for the art of music making, a result of being a student of the craft of music for much of their life. Matty talks all about their journey in music, which after performing with various theatre companies & productions, they dedicated their time in the study of classical composition & vocal technique, all at the age of 13 - and then set off on their path to becoming a songwriter.
We also listen to and discuss Matty's funky and sexy early summer hit “Love Fool" as well as their brand new bop, entitled, “Pretty” - which Broadway World called, "...a [track with] dreamy, shimmery vocals, gritty beats, and a pinch of sparkling 60s guitar-pop.”
Matty also opens up about how this past year not only positively influenced their music, but how it has encouraged them to discover their true identity - as a person, and electrifying artist who breaks the molds of not just genre, but gender as well.
