I plugged it into a **Fender Champion 600**, the **Boss Katana Mini**, and the **Line 6 Pod Go** — and wow… it *sings*! Even tried it with an **Ebow** for some killer sustain.

🎸🔥 On this episode of Exclusively Van Halen on Johnny Beane TV — we’re diving into the jaw-dropping story of Eddie Van Halen’s 1982 Kramer electric guitar that just sold for a mind-blowing $2,734,000 at auction! 💰🤯
This isn’t just any six-string — this beast was custom-built for Eddie himself, played extensively during Van Halen’s legendary 1982–83 tours, lighting up stages from Philadelphia to Caracas, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires. 🌎⚡
Known to Van Halen fans as the “Kramer Ad Guitar,” this was one of the very first Kramer guitars built and used by Eddie, featured in his iconic “It’s very simply the best guitar you can buy today” Kramer ad. With its bold red, white, and black stripes inspired by the original Frankenstein, this guitar symbolized the beginning of Eddie’s partnership with Kramer — a collaboration that helped make the company the best-selling electric guitar brand of the mid-’80s, even surpassing Fender! 🎸🔥
After its run with Van Halen, Eddie gifted the guitar to his longtime tech Rudy Leiren, inscribing it with:
“Rude – it’s been a great ten years – let’s do another ten. Eddie Van Halen.”
Eventually, the guitar made its way to Mötley Crüe’s Mick Mars, who used it to record the Dr. Feelgood album — including the track “Slice of Your Pie.” 🤘
Originally estimated at $2 million–$3 million, the hammer fell at $2.734 million, officially making it one of the most expensive guitars ever sold — and another historic moment in the legacy of Eddie Van Halen. 🏆
