John Calvin: The Harsh Early Years (Part 1)

Welcome to the first episode of the John Calvin Podcast! In this episode we hear about the early formative influences that shaped the young Calvin. Featuring the austere, Collège de Montaigu, the religious intolerance of the Sorbonne and the infamous affair of the Placards which led to anti-Catholic tracts tracts being outrageously posted across France and even to King Francis own bedchamber. This episode follows Calvin until the political and religious upheaval of the reformation leads to a 25 year old Calvin being forced to leave France as an exile in 1535.
