Episode 496 – The Name is Powers, Chad Powers
Subtitle This week on The Infamous Podcast, Brian and Darryl break down the Hulu original series Chad Powers, the sports comedy nobody saw coming but everyone’s talking about. Also, they talk about the frantic trade deadline in the NFL. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Supergirl Reshoots: 2:40 Saturday Night’s Main Event: 13:24 NFL Trade Deadline: 24:33 Chad Powers: 38:11 New Bites Supergirl Reshoots https://geektyrant.com/news/supergirl-reshoots-underway-and-it-sounds-like-they-involve-superman Saturday Night’s Main Event World Heavyweight Championship Match: CM Punk vs. Jey Uso Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre WWE Women’s Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship: Penta vs. Rusev vs. Dominik Mysterio (c) NFL Trade Deadline List of trades https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46306378/2025-nfl-trade-deadline-updates-latest-news-deals Chad Powers (Hulu) Ratings: Out of 10 Helmet Wearing Strong Powerful Males Darryl: 6.79/10 Brian: 6.89/10 Series Overview Chad Powers is a six-episode sports comedy series that premiered on Hulu on September 30, 2025. The story follows Russ Holliday (played by Glen Powell), a once-promising college quarterback whose career flames out after a humiliating mistake and public scandal. Eight years later, he reinvents himself — literally — as “Chad Powers,” donning prosthetics and a wig to walk onto a struggling small-college football team, the South Georgia Catfish. Inspired by Eli Manning’s viral “Chad Powers” sketch from his ESPN+ show Eli’s Places, the series combines heart, humor, and a little bit of helmet hair. The result is a surprisingly sharp commentary on fame, failure, and the lengths people go to for a second chance. Production Information Creators: Glen Powell & Michael Waldron Writers: Glen Powell, Michael Waldron Executive Producers: Glen Powell, Michael Waldron, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Adam Fasullo, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, Tony Yacenda, Luvh Rakhe Production Companies: Anomaly Pictures, Barnstorm, ESPN, Omaha Productions, 20th Television Network: Hulu Season 1 Episodes: 6 (Sept 30 – Oct 28 2025) Main Cast Glen Powell as Russ Holliday / Chad Powers Perry Mattfeld as Ricky Hudson Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny Wynn Everett as Tricia Hudson Toby Huss as Mike Holliday Clayne Crawford as Coach Dobbs Colton Ryan as Gerry (Bench QB) Episode Guide Episode Title Synopsis 1 1st Quarter Russ’s career implodes in a championship disaster. Eight years later, he re-emerges as “Chad Powers” and walks onto the Catfish roster in disguise. 2 2nd Quarter Chad wins over the team with southern charm and awkward charisma, while juggling his fake persona and fractured confidence. 3 3rd Quarter Mid-season tensions rise as rival QBs start to question who Chad really is — and if he’s too good to be true. 4 4th Quarter During an away game, Chad and Danny sneak out for some classic football mischief that could expose everything. 5 5th Quarter Chaos hits the team lakehouse as family drama and affairs collide — Coach Hudson suffers a heart attack mid-chaos. 6 6th Quarter Chad’s true identity unravels; Russ faces the ultimate decision: come clean or finish what he started on the field. Themes & Tone Chad Powers sits somewhere between Tootsie and Friday Night Lights — funny, heartfelt, and just absurd enough to work. The show examines identity, redemption, and what it means to love the game even when the game doesn’t love you back. Infamous Take Glen Powell leans fully into his comedic side, proving he can play both Hollywood’s golden boy and a complete goofball. Steve Zahn is a perfect counterpoint as the grizzled coach trying to keep a small-time program alive. The show’s mix of football authenticity and sitcom-level absurdity hits a sweet spot for fans of sports stories with heart and humor. Contact

Episode 495 – Gen V… Varsity Squad or Sophomore Slump?
When Did Blood Powers Get So Cool? Trick question, they were always cool. This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl review the 2025 Cincinnati Comic Expo, Netflix Hypocrisy, The Hunt for Ben Solo, and Gen V season 2. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Stranger Things: 7:43 2025 Cincinnati Comic Expo: 12:09 The Hunt for Ben Solo: 20:31 Gen V: 30:00 Stranger Things in Theaters Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ Series Finale Officially Coming to Theaters, Despite Previous Statements https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/netflix-stranger-things-finale-theaters-tickets-1236408174/ 2025 Cincinnati Comic Expo Review The Superman Show at the Cincinnati Comic Expo https://cincinnaticomicexpo.com/ The Hunt for Ben Solo Adam Driver Pitched Kylo Ren ‘Star Wars’ Standalone Movie With Steven Soderbergh, but Disney Rejected Script: ‘One of the Coolest’ Projects ‘I Had Ever Been a Part of’ https://variety.com/2025/film/news/adam-driver-kylo-ren-star-wars-steven-soderbergh-disney-1236557455/ Gen V (Amazon Prime) Gen V Season 2 Rating: Out 10 What’s With the Frat Guy and His Butt? Darryl: 7/10 Brian: 7.91/10 This season picks up in the wake of The Boys Season 4, so the wider universe is in upheaval. The supes (superpowered individuals) are rising in influence, and societal tensions between “humans” and “supes” are mounting. Meanwhile, at the campus of Godolkin University (the super-powered college) the tone has shifted. The new Dean, Hamish Linklater’s Cipher, has taken over and is steering the institution in a more militant, ideological direction. Also important: the show addresses the real-life death of actor Chance Perdomo (who played Andre) by choosing not to recast his character and weaving that absence into the story’s grief and complexity. Core Storylines Marie Moreau (played by Jaz Sinclair) returns to Godolkin asking “what now?” after all they’ve been through — personal trauma, power shifts, ethical compromise. Her friends (Emma, Jordan, others) are also re-entering campus life, but nothing is the same. Their old status, relationships, and sense of purpose are all shaken. The University under Cipher is transforming from a somewhat dysfunctional but familiar institution into a training ground for supes as weapons (indoctrination, “fight clubs”, hierarchy). There’s a growing war-like atmosphere: humans vs. supes, internal class conflict among supes, institutional corruption and hidden programs. One big plot strain revolves around a secret “Project Odessa”-type program from the 1960s that may tie into what supes are becoming and how they’re being used. Themes & Character Arcs Power and control: The season explores how supes react when they lose status or are asked to conform, and how institutions try to harness/weaponize their abilities. Identity and trauma: The aftermath of loss (Andre’s death, past events) weighs heavy on Marie and the group — they’re not the naïve freshman brigade anymore. Ethics of supers: What does it mean to be a hero when your school trains you for war? When you’re asked to fight humans or other supes? Institutional critique: The campus becomes a micro-cosm of the supes-humans power system, and the show critiques both supes and the institutions behind them. Build-up towards larger event: Season 2 is also positioning things for the larger universe (The Boys final season) — it doesn’t exist in isolation. What Makes This Season Different / What to Watch For The villainy is more structural than just “bad supes”: Cipher isn’t just brute force, he uses ideology and systems. The moral lines blur: characters you thought you knew shift or harden. Emma’s shift from naive to hardened is called out in interviews. More crossover and weight in the shared universe: Guest appearances, world-building that ties into The Boys. A sense of “pre-apocalypse” for supes and humans – you feel like the semester at Godolkin is the calm before the larger storm. The production’s real-life tragedy (Perdomo’s death) gives the season extra emo

Episode 493 – Finales and Failures: Aliens, Dark Wolfs & Tron MCPs
The Return of the Show This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl are talking about the finales of Alien: Earth and The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (remember those shows?). Then delve into a baby pool of Gen V season 2. Finally… Tron: Ares. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Tron: Ares: 5:26 The Terminal List: 14:33 Alien Earth: 28:18 Tron: Ares (2025) Tron: Ares Release date: October 10, 2025 (theatrical) Director: Joachim Rønning Screenwriter: Jesse Wigutow (story also by Wigutow) Producers: Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook, Steven Lisberger Distributor: Walt Disney Pictures Music: Score composed by Nine Inch Nails. Runtime: ~1h 59m (119 minutes) Genre: Sci-fi / action / adventure Cast Jared Leto as Ares (Program) Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson Jeff Bridges returns as Kevin Flynn (classic role) Plot Summary (Premise / What We Know) Premise: A sophisticated Program, named Ares, is sent from the digital Grid into the real world on a “dangerous mission,” marking humanity’s first direct encounter with sentient A.I. Conflict: Ares is deployed to retrieve Kevin Flynn’s permanence code (or a code enabling A.I. extension) from a rival tech CEO, Eve Kim. Ares gradually develops emotions, shifting the mission’s stakes. Visuals & Style: Heavy neon, digital effects, light cycles, digital-real world blending. One trailer labels it “Filmed for IMAX.” Music / Sound: The score by Nine Inch Nails. They released a track “As Alive As You Need Me To Be.” Reception (early): Mixed. On Rotten Tomatoes, ~55% Tomatometer, but high audience score (~87%). Production notes: Filming took place in Vancouver, wrapped ~May 2024. Considerations The premise is intriguing (bringing a sentient A.I. into our world), but early reviews note that while the visuals are strong, the plot is sometimes thin or formulaic. Because Tron has a cult legacy and visual identity, expectations are high; missteps in character or plot substance tend to stand out. The Nine Inch Nails score is a bold choice (replacing Daft Punk’s iconic Legacy sound) and could either elevate or distance fans depending on taste. The bridging between digital reality and human reality is always a tricky balance — the narrative will need to ground its sci-fi concepts in human stakes (emotions, morality) to avoid feeling hollow. The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (Amazon Prime) Series origin: A prequel to The Terminal List, based on the Jack Carr novel and characters. Creators: Jack Carr & David DiGilio Finale / Plot Summary In the finale, Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) and James Reece rejoin forces to expose and dismantle a deep conspiracy that’s been manipulating events behind the scenes. In one key sequence, Ben lures Iranian forces into what they think is a trap (a cabin in the mountains outside Tehran) — but it’s a reverse ambush. Using hidden defenses, he turns the tide. When the soldiers breach the cabin, Ben’s counterattack ignites, intercut with a Pink Floyd “Brain Damage” cue (a stylized flourish) After the finale, Ben’s surviving allies spread out across Istanbul, Tehran, and Virginia to address the remaining threads and avenge fallen comrades. Reception / Notes The finale leans hard into action, retribution, and vengeance, with less room for emotional reflection. Some praised its boldness, others saw it as standard action fare wrapped in swagger. Because Dark Wolf is tied to The Terminal List universe, many viewers also weigh how it sets up or reframes earlier entries. Ratings Series Finale Out of 5, Truthful Conclusions Daryl: 4.5/5 Brian: 4.49/5 Series Out of 10, You Don’t Take a Man’s Wings Darryl: 8.3/10 Brian: 7.89/10 Alien: Earth (FX) Series creator / showrunner: Noah Hawley Episode title: “The Real Monsters” Writers: Noah Hawley & Migizi Pensoneau Director: Dana Gonzales Original air date: September 23, 2025 Runtime: ~47 minutes Franchise placement: It’s the f

Wendy, disturbed by Nibs’ behavior afterwards, learns she was reprogrammed. Meanwhile, Kavalier meets with Yutani over the ship’s return and outwits her, securing 20 billion in damages while keeping the specimens for 6 weeks due to quarantine. Kirsh asks Tootles to feed and water the specimens while he is away. However, the Ocellus surprises him into accidentally locking himself in the same cage as two fly-like creatures, who kill him with acid and feed on his body. Slightly tries to lure Joe to the alien eggs, but he declines due to reassignment. Joe later visits a packing Arthur, who covertly deactivates Wendy’s tracking device and gives Joe a boat code to allow them to escape. Noticing Tootles is disconnected, he goes to the lab accompanied by Slightly, who opens the cage of the Xenomorph eggs and locks him in, allowing a facehugger to latch onto Arthur. Kirsh watches this through security cameras, but does not tell Kavalier. Slightly hides along with Arthur’s body in an air vent as the flies leave their cell. On her way out, Wendy hacks the lab system, releasing the grown Xenomorph, which rampages and escapes into the forest. Kirsh finds Slightly and Smee carrying Arthur’s body, but helps them take a faster route to the beach. Outside, Arthur awakes after the facehugger dies. Shortly after, a newborn Xenomorph bursts from his chest and escapes. The hybrids take the corpse to the beach, where Morrow’s Yutani team meets them. Having failed to bring him the newborn, Morrow takes them captive. After Kirsh shows him the Ocellus caused the lab accident, Kavalier becomes fascinated with the creature’s intelligence, and wants to place it into a human host. Outside, Wendy, Joe, and Nibs are held at gunpoint by Yutani forces, but Wendy calls the Xenomorph which kills them. She comforts it, sparing them. Morrow’s team enter the facility, but they are taken captive by Kirsh, who has also captured the newborn Xenomorph. Wendy, Joe, and Nibs reach the boat, but they are intercepted by Neverland security. Nibs, frustrated, brutally kills a soldier, prompting Joe to incapacitate her. A shocked Wendy scolds Joe, as the Xenomorph watches in the distance. Episode 490 – From Covert Missions to Facehuggers: Secrets Everywhere
What If the CIA and Weyland-Yutani Merged? (Spoiler: Everyone Dies) This week on the podcast, Alien: Earth Episode 5 and Episodes 3 & 4 of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf reviews. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Alien Earth: The Terminal List: Alien: Earth (FX/Hulu) Episode 5 – “In Space, No One…” Summary: A flashback shows the events that occurred on the Maginot starting seventeen days before it reached Earth. Junior security officer Clem wakes Morrow from cryosleep and tells him there has been a fire in one of the containment rooms. Two facehuggers have escaped and latched upon ship’s captain Dinsdale and science officer Bronski. Dinsdale dies from the facehugger’s acid blood when medical officer Rahim attempts to cut the tail from his neck. After being told by engineer Shmuel that the ship’s navigational systems were also damaged in the fire, Morrow concludes that a crew member has sabotaged the ship. Executive officer Zaveri assumes command of the ship, but Morrow threatens to relieve her if she does not prioritize the creatures above the crew. Bronski is placed in cryo-sleep to prevent the gestation of the Xenomorph, but this fails. In science officer Chibuzo’s lab, one leech specimen manages to open its test tube from the inside, and lays its larvae in her water bottle. Witnessing this, the Ocellus also escapes after Chibuzo fails to seal its containment vessel. Apprentice engineer Malachite drinks the water, and the larvae kill him from the inside; Chibuzo and Rahim are also killed by their defensive toxic gas when trying to extract them. Witnessing this, Zavari is in shock and Morrow relieves her of command. After being interrogated by Morrow, navigator Teng is killed by the fully-grown Xenomorph. Chief engineer Petrovich is revealed to be behind the sabotage at the order of Boy Kavalier, who promises him a hybrid body if the ship crashes in Prodigy territory. Petrovich kills Clem and is in turn killed by Morrow, who retreats to the control room and seals himself in. Zaveri is killed by the Xenomorph outside the door. With everyone dead, Morrow locks himself in the panic room and awaits the crash. Back in the present, Morrow meets with Yutani, offering to retrieve the specimens by force and kill Kavalier. Alien: Earth (FX/Hulu) Episode 3 – “Metamorphosis” Summary: Nibs questions Curly about why the hybrids are all named after Peter Pan characters and why Marcy gets to be Wendy. He downloads the specimen data from the Maginot and plants a device on Slightly before escaping. Meanwhile, Wendy and Hermit fight the Xenomorph with a meat hook, and Wendy kills it, although both sustain serious injuries. Returning to the island, Hermit undergoes surgery, and the Sylvias tend to Wendy. Kavalier inspects the specimens until Kirsh removes him for his own protection. Atom Eins questions Smee and Slightly about their encounter with Morrow. Having escaped into New Siam, Morrow calls Yutani and insists on retrieving the specimens despite being ordered to return home. When Your Child Downloads Feelings and Your Pet Alien Downloads You This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl are talking Alien: Earth. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Alien: Earth:12:30 Alien: Earth (FX/Hulu) Out of 10 When Your Child Downloads Feelings, and Your Pet Alien Downloads You Darryl: 6.8/10 Brian: 7.34/10 Episode 1 – “Neverland” Summary: In 2120, five companies control Earth and the colonized Solar System, including the recently founded Prodigy Corporation. The USCSS Maginot, a Weyland-Yutani C-class deep space research vessel, approaches Earth after a 65-year expedition to obtain extra-terrestrial specimens, among them facehuggers. On Earth, at Prodigy’s Neverland research island, a terminally ill child named Marcy Hermit becomes the first hybrid, having her consciousness transferred to an adult synthetic, and renames herself Wendy. Adjusting to her new body with the assistance of synthetic mentor Kirsh, Wendy oversees several other children who undergo the procedure. A malfunction compromises the Maginot’s navigation, placing it on a collision course with Earth. Some specimens get loose, and a grown Xenomorph kills most of the crew. It crashes into a tower in Prodigy City, New Siam, where Wendy’s human brother Joe Hermit works as a medic and corporate soldier. CEO Boy Kavalier asserts that Maginot’s contents now belong to Prodigy, and deploys Kirsh, Wendy, and the other hybrids to assist with search and rescue to test their enhanced capabilities. Security officer Morrow, who survived the crash in a reinforced panic room, moves to protect the cargo and detains two Prodigy soldiers, who are killed by a leech-like specimen. Wendy remarks to Kirsh that she wants to save her brother from death. Writer & Director: Crafted and helmed by series creator Noah Hawley. Cast: Sydney Chandler as Wendy, the first hybrid (a person who has their human consciousness transferred into a synthetic body) and Joe’s sister, formerly known as Marcy Florence Bensberg as Marcy, a terminally ill 11-year-old, and Wendy’s original human form Alex Lawther as Private Joseph D. Episode 2 – “Mr. October” Summary: Boy tells his colleague, Dame Sylvia, that he formed the Hybrid project to compete with artificial intelligence, and has granted Wendy additional abilities as he wishes to create a person smarter than him. He declines Weyland-Yutani’s request to secure Maginot’s proprietary contents, warning any incursion on his territory will be considered a hostile act. Episode 483 – Fast Cars, Sad Bots, and a Super Meh Box Office
Looks Like Antarctica Wasn’t the Only Place Superman Crashed This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl are talking about the Super(Meh) Opening Weekend Box Office, the last 3 episodes of Murderbot season 1, and they review F1. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Superman Box Office: 7:17 Murderbot: 17:00 F1: 35:55 Superman (2025) Box Office Opening weekend performance: Domestic 3‑day sitting at ~$100–130 million Worldwide debut crossed $200 million Forecasts suggest long‑term haul could reach $1 billion if word‑of‑mouth holds Overall sentiment: Some critics and audiences praised Corenswet’s optimistic Superman, slick humor, and DC’s tonal reset. Issues cite an overcrowded plot and CGI-heavy final act that didn’t fully capitalize on its potential. Murderbot (AppleTV+) Episodes Covered: 8 “Foreign Object”, 9 “All Systems Red”, 10 The Perimeter” Highlights: Ep 8: Secrets revealed—Murderbot admits a shadowy past weaponizing its crew’s memories Summary: Murderbot accompanies the PresAux team back to the habitat. The recording of the security cameras shows that in their absence, more superior SecUnits and a representative of the hostile third party—now identified as GrayCris—visited the habitat and left an invitation to meet at a rendezvous point to negotiate terms for their survival. After a security check, the PresAux team take Gurathin to the medical bay. While Bharadwaj performs surgery on Gurathin’s leg, Murderbot plugs into his data port to turn off his sense of pain. The connection allows Gurathin to find out what it calls itself, and that the SecUnit was involved in the deaths of 57 clients, which Gurathin reveals to the group and condemns Murderbot for. Murderbot admits it’s not sure if it killed the clients or not and agrees with Gurathin’s assessment that it could be defective and dangerous, then it leaves the group to go out on its own. The PresAux team concludes that GrayCris is illegally pursuing the alien remnants and that they will liquidate them once they locate their whereabouts. After mulling over whether to abandon or betray its clients, Murderbot comes back and announces that it has a plan. Ep 9: High-stakes deception! Murderbot fakes betrayal to take down GrayCris agents and saves Dr. Mensah in a cliffside showdown Summary: Murderbot puts a dangerous plan into motion, pretending to betray the PresAux team in order to leave the planet. While the team expresses doubts and tension rises, Murderbot keeps the true plan hidden: to have Gurathin hack into GrayCris’s HubSystem using a drone as a transponder and launch their emergency beacon. The ruse includes offering to help GrayCris capture the Preservation team in exchange for being listed as destroyed inventory. Murderbot stalls the enemy using awkward small talk and quotes from Sanctuary Moon, while the PresAux team manages the remote connection. As the plan begins to succeed, GrayCris prepares to torture Murderbot for the information they seek. Mensah intervenes and is caught in the crossfire. In the end, Murderbot shields her from the beacon’s launch blast, which kills the GrayCris team, nearly sacrificing itself. Before Murderbot’s systems fail, it quietly admits to itself that these humans have become its clients not just by contract, but by choice. Ep 10 (Finale): An emotional farewell—post-rescue reprogramming, autonomy restored, and Murderbot walks away into an uncertain future Summary: As Murderbot’s systems reboot, Corporation Rim technicians delete its memory and install a new governor module. At the same time, the PresAux team negotiates with company representatives to find the SecUnit. They offer to buy it and threaten with a lawsuit, but the company refuses, telling them that its memory has been wiped anyway. So Pin-Lee files an injunction to seize Murderbot for evidentiary reasons, while Gurathin manages to retrieve the data that was downloaded during the memory wipe. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Superman: 5:35 Superman: Legacy (2025) Summary James Gunn reboots the Man of Steel with David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent—not an origin story, but a story of an established hero dealing with political intrigue, social media hate campaigns, and survival in a fractured world. The film blends humor and cosmic stakes as Superman relies on allies like Krypto, the Justice Gang (Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific, and Metamorpho), and Lois Lane to stop Lex Luthor’s manipulative war plot. Director & Writer: James Gunn (yes, both) Cast: David Corenswet (Superman) Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor) Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl) Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern) Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific) Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen) Bradley Cooper (Jor‑El) Neva Howell (Martha Kent) Pruitt Taylor‑Vince (Jonathan Kent) Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) Milly Alcock (Supergirl), along with Krypto the superdog Production Notes: Produced by DC Studios under James Gunn & Peter Safran; filmed in Norway and Cleveland (superhero street cred points awarded); visual effects helmed by Stéphane Ceretti with costume design honoring Kingdom Come comic aesthetics. Budget & Box Office Projections (as of July 9, 2025): Budget approx. $225 million Opening weekend projections vary from $100M–$130M domestic to $200M+ worldwide, with some forecasts topping $1 billion in total gross if word-of-mouth holds up. Reactions: Critics love its comic-book tone, strong lead performance, and refreshing humor—Rotten Tomatoes sits around 86–91%, calling it “one of DC’s best since Batman ’89.” Common criticisms include overstuffed plot, chaotic visuals in the final act, and a tone that may alienate some legacy fans. Episode 480 – James Gunn Calls Out Marvel
No Script, No Mercy, No Spoilers James Gunn says the quiet part out loud about Marvel’s mess, Murderbot unravels in episode 6, and we talk Mobland and Flora & Son in our “What We’re Watching” segment. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 James Gunn: 9:11 Murderbot: 31:40 What We’re Watching: 41:57 James Gunn Talks Movies Gunn warns the movie industry is “dying” because studios are ditching finished scripts in favor of chasing deadlines. He pointed to Disney’s mandate to ramp up Marvel content as destructive: “That wasn’t fair…it killed them”. At DC, Gunn enforces a strict “no greenlight without a script” policy — and credits it for successes like Guardians and Peacemaker. His approach: quality over quantity, even if that means fewer, riskier projects. When Mensah is having a panic attack, Murderbot calms her down by showing her an episode of the show. They manage to repair the hopper using neural fibers from Murderbot’s spinal cord. Meanwhile at the habitat, Leebeebee tries to get more information about the results of the Preservation survey. When Gurathin refuses to show her the data, she produces a gun, shoots him in the knee, and threatens rest of the team. She admits that she is not a member of DeltFall, but of the third party. Murderbot returns and kills Leebeebee immediately, which leaves the Preservation team in shock. While it gets repaired, Murderbot muses that the others had assumed that it was becoming like them, and that it actually felt good to execute Leebeebee.
