Anies Baswedan is the former Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture (2014–2016) and former Governor of Jakarta (2017–2022). More recently, he ran as a presidential candidate in the 2024 Indonesian general election. He holds a PhD in Public Policy from Northern Illinois University, a Master’s degree from the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universitas Gadjah Mada. In 2023, he was appointed to the board of the Asia Research Center at the University of Oxford.
