In this episode I’m speaking with Rachael Kennedy, Owner of Grönn: Manchester’s First Eco-Luxe Salon & Sustainable Lifestyle Store.

I met about 4 years ago and as we live close to each other we’ve met up face to face many times and had many interesting conversations and she inspires me to be a better human being for the planet!

Racheal talks about her own career journey in the hairdressing industry and how she has rebelled against how she was told she should be working in a salon.

Hitting 40 with one wrong turn after another and nowhere to go, life pushed her onto the path of launching a business like no other. Turns out it saved her life. Contrary to what others thought, she wasn't mad to do it after all...

Rachael set up her own salon which is completely in line with who she is and what she believes in, which has won her many accolades including being named as one of the top 10 salons in the UK.

Rachael also talks about how Imposter Syndrome thrives when you work on your own and what she has personally done to combat that.

She also talk about her biggest bout of Imposter Syndrome when she was asked to be part of a panel for a sustainability industry event and how deciding to be authentically herself was the solution.

Rachael spends her precious time away from business curled up with partner in crime Hector the English Bull Terrier, a book and a good cup of tea.
