Hear Beth dismantle some huge leadership misconceptions including the value of putting up your core values somewhere visible, leaders can make unaccountable people become accountable, and that company scorecards kill the culture.   Takeaways: The act of simply putting your core values somewhere that your employees can see is not going to make them live and breathe those values, it’s not going to impact your company’s culture, and it’s not going to create change. For your core values to actually make an impact in your company, they need to be authentic and then integrated into the daily conversation. The leaders of your company need to live the core values and recognize other people that are a part of that culture. Build a culture of appreciation that regularly uses shout outs to highlight the accomplishments and behaviors of team members that are living the core values.  A leader cannot make some be more accountable, that person must want to become more accountable themselves. Accountability is driven by a combination of leadership and management.  Delegation is hard for a lot of leaders because they know they can do something better than the person they’re assigning it to at first. However, in order to grow your company, entrepreneurs need to “let go of the vine” and trust their team. Have a regularly scheduled clarity break to allow you to get all of your thoughts down and decompress without any distractions.
