While they do have more responsibilities in their leadership role, they are no more or less important than anyone else in the organization. As a leader, you need to recognize that you’re in a position where you can help your people succeed and that their success leads to your success.  When someone new is put into a leadership role, there is an incorrect assumption that because they are in charge they know everything.  Leaders need to consider how to properly show their gratitude to the people working around them in ways that they will really appreciate. In some cases, this could be as simple as talking to someone about the job they did and genuinely thanking them. If you are trying to make a decision, talk to the frontline employees that are involved in the execution of it. You will gain a better perspective and they will feel valued Before you can begin leading, you need to listen. You and your team are working toward a common goal and you can’t achieve your goal if everyone does not understand what that goal is first.
