In this episode of The HisTerical Society Feminist Podcast, Kistein Monkhouse of Patient Orator walks us through the various reasons maternal mortality is such a crisis in the United States.  We discuss issues with implicit bias in the healthcare system and how that can negatively affect health outcomes for women, especially people of color and low income.  Kistein reminds us that since we all know our bodies better than anyone, we may need to push back on health care professionals if we feel we aren't being heard.
