Dr. Gutierrez completed medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in NYC in 2007
He then went onto his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
His further study earned him two fellowships, the first in 2012 at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in Gastroenterology,
followed by a second fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at the University of Miami - Jackson Memorial Hospital, Transplant Hepatology in 2014.
Dr. Gutierrez is well-recognized as an authority in hepatitis B and C (HBV & HCV), fatty liver, and alcoholic liver disease.
In addition, he specializes in liver cancer, cirrhosis, and those who need or had a liver transplant. Finally, Dr. Gutierrez enjoys spending time with his two daughters and wife, playing guitar and fishing. He and his family also enjoy traveling and are often visiting his wife’s family in Cartagena, Colombia.
