Redefining Wellness | Perfectionism and it’s Grip on the Body

In today’s episode, we’re taking a look at the self-limiting standards of perfectionism and the profound impact it can have on our health. Our society is constantly bombarded with relentless standards and unrealistic prerequisites for what it means to be healthy, and our inner critics often knock us down with all the intention of lifting us up. We berate ourselves with messages scolding this idea that we’re not doing enough, or if we just pushed a little harder on that sore point maybe it would get better. However, when those thoughts broadcast in our minds all day, it’s not long before they seep their way into the body, manifesting into disease, illness and pain, and creating neural pathways and energy blockages that hinder the natural healing process.
The truth is that we are not the problem; the problem lies in our unyielding pursuit of perfection. To lead happier and healthier lives, we must open our minds to broader possibilities, rewrite our inner narratives, and redefine our concept of self-care. Your path to well-being is not a sprint but a marathon. It's about consistently showing up for yourself, day after day, and focusing on progress, not perfection.
