Summer and Christian Allen - All-Americans Live Here

On this episode of the Headlamp Hour we talk with Summer and Christian Allen - The amazing all-american duo and parents of two, soon to be three! We discuss how they met at Weber State University, how they continued to compete and become All-Americans while raising their first child. We ask Summer what it’s like to go from running in the Olympic trials to being a mom and running during and after pregnancy and how she and Christian balance life as parents and competitive athletes. We talk about how Christian and Summer both competed in the Snowbird and Alta Cirque series, Christian’s win at his debut 50k at Speedgoat this past summer and his marathon olympic trials qualifying performance at CIM just a few weeks ago. We talk about how Christian plans to finish up his NCAA eligibility at BYU for the indoor and outdoor track seasons in 2024 then sign a professional contract, and how Summer plans to get back at it on the competitive running scene postpartum. Please excuse the audio quality in the last 5 minutes - as a new podcaster I am still working out the kinks but the heart of this conversation with Summer and Christian is definitely something you won’t want to miss! They are certainly a power couple and super fun to talk with, and I hope you enjoy the conversation!
