Busy ants, watching them is like watching the tip of an iceberg, most of their activity is underground.

In the Alentejo I've watched them collect up eggshell pieces and popcorn, but mostly they create their clearings in the meadow flowers, moving swiftly to collect grass seeds to take underground.
