Fleeing the battle raging at the University, Shem initiates an inter-dimensional jump through time and space. When they emerge, Adamah and Shem find themselves on the planet of Skelter, a prison/college for radical thinkers. There they encounter the Singularity Reason who reveals to them how close their journey is to its goal. With just stars between her and The Hands of Hypatia, Adamah must face her final reckoning and accept her place in the universe.
