Episode 17: RanDee Anshutz - Health At Every Size And The Entrepreneurial Spirit

RanDee Anshutz is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Licensed Massage Therapist, and also the founder/owner of Synergy Health and Wellness, where she and her colleges specialize in promoting Health at Every Size and resuming body trust.

RanDee's work started largely steeped in the traditional weight loss paradigm, because that’s what she was taught in academia, but after time applying the ideas to “human subjects” she recognized a few things:

  • Dieting or restricting, in any form, does not work.  The pursuit of weight loss or controlling the size of our body causes more harm than good.
  • Instead, a self care practice that is rooted in compassion and intuition can lead to improvements in metabolic health, regardless of one’s body size.
  • Because she is a health care provider, this pursuit of health is much more congruent with her ethics.

After working in healthcare for over 20 years, RanDee has learned that nothing is more powerful than connection.  When we connect we learn, understand, and grow.  She continues to create a space where you are free to connect—with her, her team of providers, and with each other.  Whatever feels right for you, and whatever pace is right for you—RanDee and her team have got your back.

Wednesday, June 10th

Info -

To Our White Friends,

We need a critical mass of white people to join in a radical awakening to interrupt white supremacy. We need to reconnect to our spirit and our humanity, the deep knowing that human beings are interconnected to one another and to all living beings.

We are inviting white people into an interactive conversation on Wednesday, June 10th for two hours. We will address the impact of white supremacy and illusions of separateness. We will engage in small interactive conversations on prompts:

· How have you personally benefited from white supremacy?

· How have we contributed to a state of being that has led to our white culture of domination, extraction, and violence?

· What if spirit and humanity were prioritized by our ancestors, what different choices might have emerged? How do we repair and heal all that has gone wrong?

If these questions resonate with you, we invite you into the conversation.

Episode 13: Reminiscing And Responding To Questions/Rebuttals About HAES And Intuitive Eating

This week Carly and Jo start by reminiscing about the past 12 episodes and what they have gained through doing this podcast. They also respond to some of the common questions and rebuttals that people have regarding intuitive eating and HAES.

1. If I only ate what I was craving, I would sit around and eat donuts and candy all day!

2. I don't care what people think of me. I just want to lose weight for myself.

3. A doctor told me that I have to lose weight, so I don't have the privilege of looking at food that way.
