The GymCraic Podcast is your go-to show for everything health, fitness, adventure, travel, and, of course, a bit of fun. Hosted by me, Adrian Allen, the podcast features interviews with incredible people I've met along my journey—from my life-changing solo fitness holiday in Phuket in 2013 to five years of coaching in Thailand and Bali. Now back in Australia, I'm fully immersed in IRONMAN training, backyard ultras, and Hyrox training while coaching at Fitstop, working full-time as a sparkie, and connecting with a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to improving lives.

#45 "How I Became an Ironman: Achieving My Long-Standing Goal and Proving Anything Is Possible"

After 18 months of dedication, countless lessons, and relentless training, race day is finally here. Can I go under 11 hours in my first-ever Ironman?

Having started this journey in July 2023, unable to swim more than 50 meters, I’ve learned what it takes to push limits, grow confidence, and prepare for the ultimate challenge: completing the Western Australia Ironman in Busselton.

In this episode, I reflect on:

  • The Lead-Up: How I prepared and stayed organized for race day.
  • Swim, Bike, Run: Breaking down each leg of the race, how I performed, and what I learned along the way.
  • The Finish Line Feeling: From ringing the bell to running down the red carpet—it’s a moment I’ll never forget.
  • Lessons in Endurance: How past events helped shape my mindset and allowed me to stay in control.
  • The Power of Community: A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who supported me, whether through the podcast or in Busselton.

This episode is not just about the race—it’s about the journey, the growth, and the belief that anything is possible with commitment and resilience.

Sprint ✅ Olympic ✅ Busso 100 ✅ IRONMAN ✅

Join me as I share this milestone and what it means to finally say: Adrian Allen, YOU ARE AN IRONMAN.
