In the 1980’s, Kings Cross was the most infamous of places. To walk down Darlinghurst Road on a Friday night would be to draw back the curtains on a world of drugs, crime, and corruption. But what it didn’t reveal was the depth andbreadth of an even darker aspect of the Cross – rampant Child exploitation and pedophilia. It was, as Glen calls it, a ‘Predator’s Paradise’.
Abandoned to the streets of Kings Cross as a child, this was the world that Glen grew up in. Without anyone to protect him, it wasn’t long before the predators found him. From sleeping in squats and clothing bins to turning to crime to feed adrug habit that was born of the deepest of childhood trauma, Glen’s story is not just one of survival – it's the story of one man dragging himself out of the darkest of places to lead, to teach, and to advocate for the community of people who live on the fringes, that he calls family.
