Today’s episode is a fun one as I get to sit down with someone I’ve known since day one of dental school, Dr Pat Lam. Pat is a longtime friend, a true go-getter, and is now a rising star in our community. He’s doing high-level complex dentistry, teaching, mentoring, and constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible early in a career.
But what I love most about this episode is getting to strip everything back and really unpack that journey. We talk about the mindset and work ethic that carried Pat through uni, including how he made the most of challenges like COVID and being left-handed. We dive into our views on fair mentor-mentee relationships, the CPD courses that truly helped him grow, and what he might have done differently in hindsight.
