I titled this Episode "Her Own Journey" because for the first time in her life Shannon Starmaker is in the driver's seat. And if you've felt that way (even for a tiny bit ) than this story will resonate with you.
Despite obstacles like abuse from family members and her husband, who took and hid her children away from her, she's come out the other side with a whole new perspective.
Sometimes it's just not our shit to carry. This is that kind of story.
Shannon wanted to share it so anyone whose felt despair in abusive relationships can use it as a story of hope.
