"Let No One Despise You For Your Youth"

"Let No One Despise You For Your Youth"
1 Timothy 4:12 tells us, “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” This has been a life verse for me and is a pillar to the Kingdom perspective God is building up in front of us. With each new day, it seems to get a little darker out there but a little brighter within the walk of following Jesus. How can that be?Perhaps this contrast is there to help us choose to walk in the ways of everlasting with each decision and choice that we make. His goodness is so tangible and it makes the desire for purity that much stronger. Instead of living in mixture, we must choose who we will serve this day. When I look at these young people, I often see the challenges I was facing as a young teen, afraid to navigate really difficult emotions while being vulnerable with people that I love. Witnessing suicide, divorce, sexual immorality, physical and mental abuse. It plagued my eyes and jaded my perspective of the world. God has been burdening me heavily with the hearts of young people, and the mental torment they are experiencing on all sides. With technology, being locked in our homes, and lacking human connection, it has become even louder out there, and more difficult for them to face. They witnessed the cracks in the foundation, while they experienced the chains that came with the name of religion. They are far from Jesus, without knowing it. The transformational love of Christ has been missing in the Church as a whole, and our younger generations are feeling that ache. What can we do? Don’t overlook them. Don’t throw stones about screen use, I would challenge you instead to take personal ownership and responsibility for the time spent on a screen. If you are afraid they are missing it, where are you “missing it?” (life, I mean). Pray! Get on your face and PRAY for them, for their eyes to be opened, to see his goodness, to be healed, to be radically changed, to call out the lies, and SPEAK LIFE OVER THEM. He is our answer, it is His presence we desperately seek.Holy Spirit, would you come??___________________Join weekly for encouragement as we shed life on the words of our Father, as you remember that He is the God that Sees You, and He is the God that Sees Me, too.  New episodes are out weekly on Wednesdays, connect with me on social media to be encouraged on your faith walk throughout the week, and share with another Christian who could use some deep healing to their heart.
