S4. Ep.3: In Conversation with Yasmin and Khuram | Amani's Story

This week on The GlioBabes Podcast we are honoured to be joined by Yasmin and Khuram Liaquat, the parents of Amani Liaquat.

Amani was diagnosed with a glioblastoma on her 22nd birthday in 2020, and in the short time that followed, she became a fearless campaigner, fundraiser and advocate for brain tumour awareness and research. Her voice and legacy continue to inspire people across the world.

Amani’s handprint on the world is like no other. From a school, mosque, and water well’s in her name across the world, to feeding into Eastenders Lola Pearce Glioblastoma story line, to filming a podcast episode weeks before her death, about facing death, that has 89K views.

In this deeply moving conversation, Yasmin and Khuram share Amani’s story, the impact she made, and how they’re carrying forward her legacy for change.

This episode is about love, loss, and the power of speaking out, even in the face of the hardest battles.

The GlioBabes, a podcast created by two young women who were both diagnosed with brain tumours at a young age. Mel and Mol are creating a safe space to talk about their experiences and to raise awareness of brain tumours and ill health within the young population.

Our guests share their personal experiences and opinions. We understand that everyones journey is unique, and what resonates with one person may not with another. We encourage open-mindedness and respect for diverse perspectives.
