Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?
Have you ever considered what it means to be poor in spirit?
Do you think it means that you are like a beggar; without food or money?
If you said YES, you might be partially correct.
Welcome to the Daily Podcast.
It’s good to be with you again
This is Episode 49 and today's Scripture Reading comes from The Book of Matthew Chapter 5 and verse 3 which says:
Blessed are the poor in spirit: For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Listen to what Jesus said in John Chapter 5 verse 30 and we’ll go from there.
He made this statement in public. He wanted everyone to know about his relationship with the Father and how important it was to his earthly ministry.
He said: I can do nothing on my own.
The Amplified Bible puts it this way:
I can do nothing on my own initiative or authority. Just as I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just(fair, righteous, unbiased), because I do not seek My own will, but only the will of Him who sent Me.
Jesus is saying that without the Father, he can do nothing: He always comes in agreement with what the Father says, and what the Father wants because the Father knows what is best.
