Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?
There has to be more to it than just that. So I began reading from verse 17, and discovered that Jesus was with his disciples; on his way to Jerusalem when he stopped along the way to forewarn them what was about to happen when they get to Jerusalem. This is what he said:
18 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,
19 and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.”
Then out of the ‘blues’ came the mother of James and John, the two sons of Zebedee; nicknamed by Jesus; ‘The sons of Thunder.’ And she put forth a request to Jesus; that was so astounding; so much that the other 10 disciples became angry and offended. She actually knelt down before Jesus to make the request. That alone could tell you how important it was to her.
Let me ask you this: If your father was about to die, what request would you ask of him? While you think about that; let me tell you what she said to Jesus.
“Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”
Did she even care that Jesus was about to be crucified? Or did she get a revelation of his kingdom that the others couldn’t see?
