I had the incredible opportunity to interview my mentor, and commercial recording studio owner, Anthony Iannucci. Not only has Anthony been working in audio engineering since the late 70s, but he also started his own licensed school for audio engineering back in 1989, called Unity Gain Recording Institute.
I graduated back in 2019, and the experience was incredible, because unlike most colleges, you actually get to learn “hands on” by working with microphones, a mixing console, and analog gear. Not only that, but you actually get to record real bands.
My experience was incredible, and Anthony is a treasure trove of audio information, so I was incredibly excited when he agreed to let me interview him for Orpheus Audio Academy.
In this, part 1 of the interview, we discuss how to break into the music industry, how to produce music that sounds like it came from the 70s or 80s, best plugins to use, how to develop your critical listening, how to set up your home studio on a budget, best tips and tricks for home studio producers, and much more.
I highly encourage you to watch or listen all the way through, as Anthony shares a ton of valuable tips and information for becoming a better audio engineer or producer.
