She served as Singapore's Ambassador to the United States (1996โ€“2012) and earlier as Permanent Representative to the United Nations (1989โ€“1991), concurrently holding the roles of High Commissioner to Canada and Ambassador to Mexico.


She currently serves as Ambassador-at-Large with the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
