Four years ago this Wednesday, our friend Darrell left this world. I know they made a big difference to my mom when she had leukemia. Also incredibly valuable and important is getting on your national stem cell (or bone marrow) registry (Canada's registry, the US registry). You may never be called on as a match, but the more people who are registered, the better the odds of someone surviving blood cancer. Registry is easy and painless, and donation is simpler and less invasive than it's ever been.
