why filipinos love to sing karaoke 🎤

Welcome to my podcast!! I'm so grateful that you're here.

It's so weird to listen to my own voice sometimes, but I'll just let this work be my work to understand and rework those feelings in due time. In this very first episode, I come to you from my backyard, talking about how I'm coming to understand the cultural phenomena of karaoke as a staple activity of Filipino culture and my own joy for singing and performing. I ask the question, "Why is it in my nature to be a *star,* to sing?"

The book I mentioned in the episode: My Grandmother's Hands by Resmaa Menakem [affiliate link, https://bookshop.org/a/22759/9781942094470]
