#23 - Perspectives on Psychedelic Guiding

Welcome to Episode 23 of the The Flying Sage Podcast! In this episode you will be hearing a live recording from our previous Expansion Seminar back in May.

Our Expansion Seminars are events that we host in-person in Vancouver every month or so where we bring luminaries in our community to come and speak to rotating topics related to psychedelics.

In this conversation, we addressed the following questions in addition to many more…

  • What does it mean to be a psychedelic guide?
  • What are some of the top qualities to look for in a psychedelic guide?
  • What are some red flags or concerns to be mindful of when working with a guide?
  • What are the different frameworks and modalities you bring into your work?

Our guests for this seminar included Kate Browning, Deus Fortier, Ivan Rados and Devon Christie.

Kate Browning is a psychedelic integralist, ceremonialist, and multi-modal healing practitioner. She has provided health care in a variety of settings for over 30 years. A former Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, and psychotherapist, Kate is now a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology, a consultant and educator in psychedelic psychotherapy, and a psychedelic therapy research clinician.

Deus is an Accelerated Evolution Coach, Transformational Artist, Numa Breathwork practitioner and Plant Medicine facilitator. He has over 17 years of experience in the immersive study and practice in non-ordinary states of consciousness, Kriya Yoga, Earth-based spirituality, body-centered psychotherapeutic methods, art therapy, embodiment practices and trauma-informed facilitation.

Ivan Rados is a leading non-dualistic spiritual teacher known for his profound awakening at 42, leading him to develop "The Middle Point" discipline. His teachings emphasize wholeness, health, and self-actualization, challenging traditional views on consciousness and being. Author of several bestsellers like "Health It’s all About Consciousness" and "The Art Of Meditation," Ivan has influenced countless other teachers and healers worldwide.

Dr. Devon is an MD and certified psychedelic therapist, working in chronic pain and mental health. She created foundational psychedelic therapy and therapist training programs at Numinus, and trains therapists with CIIS, IPI, Vital, and ATMA on ethics, self-care, and trauma-informed, embodiment-based skills for psychedelic assisted therapy.
