The Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan teamup continues into 2025 with the release of Sinners, a gloriously vibrant, vampiric tale of twin brothers in 1930s Jim Crow era America. With thumping music, an unmissable performance from Jordan and Coogler’s eye, Sinners sets itself apart from typical vampire fare.
We also discuss Warfare. A blistering look at the frailties of war seen through the memories of a Navy Seal platoon caught up in a gunfight in Iraq, in 2006. Unflinching in its take and full of powerful performances, Warfare will be spoken about for years to come.

On this week’s episode we’re talking about revenge seeking unicorns and deep sea diving.
Let’s get one thing straight, the trailer for Death of a Unicorn, is absolutely bonkers. Father and daughter duo, played by Paul Rudd and Jenny Ortega, accidentally knock over a unicorn (yes, a unicorn!) said unicorn’s special healing powers are extracted, and used by a rich family (as you do), and to make matters worse, said unicorn’s mum and dad aren’t best pleased with their little bundle of joy being carved up for rich white people’s pleasure.
What ensues is total carnage. Unicorn style of course.
We also discuss Last Breath, an edge of your seat thriller (based on a true story) about a deep sea diving mission in the North Sea that goes horribly wrong.

On this week’s episode we discuss the action/comedy Novocain starring Jack Quaid (Hughie from The Boys) and Jake Batalon (Ned from Spider-Man). In it, Jack plays Novocain, a lovestruck assistant bank manager who cannot feel physical pain.
When the bad come along and take his newfound love, Novocain, saves the day. Albeit in a rather messy and goofy kinda way.

On this week’s episode we discuss the latest release from hitmakers, A24. This is the studio that brought us Oscar winning Everything, Everywhere All At Once, or horror classic Hereditary. These guys know a thing or two about being off kilter, and dare we say it, edgy? Sometimes the mix is hard to get right but if a film studio can do it, it’s them.
Opus, their latest offering, starring the wonderful Ayo Edibiri (The Bear) and Hollywood veteran John Malkovich, comes across as a comedy but beneath the veneer lies a dark psychological twist.
Does that twist pay off? Check out the show for more deets!

On this week’s episode we discuss Oscar winning film director Bong Joon Ho’s (Parasite) Mickey 17, an adventurous, and at times darn right bonkers sci-fi comedy. Starring Robert Pattinson (The Batman) as the eponymous Mickey, who’s brilliant by the way, the film offers a chaotic take on so many themes it’s hard to pinpoint what Ho, or the film wants to say. But the filmmakers must be commended on bringing the novel to life in such vigorous fashion.

Fresh off the success of his sophomore film Longlegs, director Ozgood Perkins is on a roll. And a bloody one at that.
Perkins is back with an adaptation of a Stephen King short story, The Monkey, and if you’ve seen the trailer you can see where this is heading.
The tropes are there: twins (never a good sign in a horror film), a creepy monkey, blood, tons of blood actually, and a healthy dose of dark comedy.
If you have seen the trailer, let’s just say you ain’t seen nothing yet!

Another year, another MCU fan favourite hits the screens. This time, we’re ready to see Anthony Mackie take the reins off of Chris Evans, as Captain America. In what is being billed as a bold new direction for the MCU, Brave New World aims to deliver a lot of what audiences expect from a Captain America movie: big action scenes, great villains, espionage with a dash of comedy thrown in. Expectations are high for this Captain America outing so the question really is, is it any good?
