This week, we have one of the most iconic Australian business founders in my opinion, Mr Jim Penman. He is the founder of Jim's Group Pty Ltd - What most people would know as Jim's Mowing, Jim's Cleaning, Jim's Pest & Building Reports, Jim's Anything-else-you-can-think-about! Jim started back in 1982 with a full-time mowing business and a $24 investment. He originally aimed only at taking on subcontractors, but as his business grew, he gradually became more specialised in building up and selling lawn mowing rounds. He started to build out the franchise group which has over 5,000 franchisees, and a turnover of over $500M AUD. There is a lot of gold in here, I think if you listen carefully, you will pull out a lot of takeaways.
