The MET Gala 2023 has happened, and thank god it's in the past so that we can start recovering. The theme for this year, 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty' was followed (surprisingly), but not followed well. We saw the same lack of interest from celebrities and designers and saw that they had no goal of doing, even a decent job. The fashion world's elite wore plain, boring, and (sadly) expected versions of Lagerfeld and his personal aesthetic without putting in the effort to go in-depth and look into his work at many other houses such as Chloé, Fendi, Balmain and Patou, rather than just Chanel. What was assigned as a relatively simpler and concise theme still proved to be to hard to follow.
