This gothic-style horror fantasy centers on Davion, the lone survivor of a group of magical protectors known as the Waywards. Ten years ago, Davion and his compatriots went undercover in the Vampiric Court to investigate devious plot the vampires were developing to escape their home planet of Moncroix. Now, Davion is the only survivor and he is trapped in his undercover role, still unsure of who hatched the original plot. Moncroix has a new visitor, Carneth Allard, a son of one of the Waywards who is determined to find his father's friends and become a famous monster-killer himself.
