
In this episode, Sona shared her experiences living in the United States, Turkey, and now back in Liberia.
Sona Traore is a 2010-2011 YES Alumni and an emerging young leader who is making her mark amongst her peers in Liberia and around the world. She has inspired a lot of girls in several leadership roles, voicing her opinions about issues affecting girls and women in her community. She currently serves as a Teacher and the Life Skills Program Officer at the Lead Monrovia Football Academy.
She is also the Co-Founder and Director of Program Development at Educate Children, a non-profit that focuses on improving access and quality of education for primary-age children in Liberia's slum communities. Sona recently founded ST Pearls, a modest fashion brand that sells quality and affordable clothing to powerful women of all backgrounds.
