A growth mindset insists on effective disagreement...while also learning to evolve when your opinion is wrong.
The worst thing to experience in a disagreement is "emotional entitlement." In a world filling with "safe spaces" and where college students need to pet soft animals to make it through post-election days, society can seem too far gone. But there is hope! If only we learn to effectively engage with those who dissent and detract, we’ll create growth opportunities for each of us. Empathy is the key to connection. And iron sharpens iron. So resist a "safe space society" and remember that disagreement doesn’t define enemies. Rather, it's good and shows us our opportunities for growth. Tune in, won’t you?
