#HealingJourney #MentalHealthAwareness #SelfCare #EmotionalWellness #InnerPeace #AloneButNotLonely #ReclaimingSolitudeLooking back, I remember how, as a kid, I was made to feel weird for wanting time alone. Adults around me often saw it as being antisocial or “having an attitude,” when really, I was just trying to find peace in my own space. Now as an adult, I realize that what I was doing back then was a form of protecting my peace—even if I didn’t have the words for it. I’ve learned that taking time to isolate isn’t a bad thing. It’s actually one of the ways I recharge, reflect, and reconnect with myself. These days, I’m more intentional about it. Whether it’s sitting in silence, journaling, or walking in nature, I’ve embraced solitude as a real part of my healing and mental health journey. So if you’ve ever felt strange for needing space—know that it’s not just okay, it’s healthy. Your energy matters. 💛

Hey y’all, welcome back to the show. Today, I'm talking about something real and personal—not letting other people’s words define who you are.
Maybe someone told you you weren’t good enough, smart enough, worthy enough—or just made you feel like you were “less than.” And for whatever reason… you believed them.
But here's the truth: they don’t get to write your story.
You are more than the names, labels, or opinions that have been spoken over you. Whether it came from a parent, an ex, a boss, or even someone who barely knows you—it doesn’t matter. You don’t have to carry those words with you anymore.
1. Let’s be real—words stick.
We all have that one thing someone said that still echoes in our head. “You’re lazy.” “You’ll never make it.” “You’re too much.” Or maybe… “You’re not enough.”
But just because it was said doesn’t mean it’s true.
2. You get to decide what you believe.
Here’s the deal—people will always have opinions. But you have the power to filter what you accept and what you throw out. You don’t have to live under a label someone else created.
3. God gets the final say.
And this is the part that helps me the most. God says you’re chosen. Loved. Created on purpose. Equipped. Whole.
So, whose words are we gonna believe? A hurt human, or the Creator of the universe?
Isaiah 54:17 says:
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment—you shall condemn.”
Let me break that down. That means even the words people say to tear you down? They won’t win.
And guess what? You have the authority to cancel them out. You don’t have to carry it. You don’t have to believe it.
So today, I just want to remind you:
You are not what they said about you. You are who God says you are.
Their words might’ve hurt, but they don’t have the power to define you—unless you give it to them.
If this spoke to you, hit that follow button, share it with someone who needs this reminder, and hey—write down one lie you’ve believed and cross it out. Replace it with what’s actually true.
Jennifer and Lisa discussed early signs of dementia and emphasized the importance of recognizing cognitive issues that may indicate a more serious condition. They explored communication strategies for caregivers, including the use of simple language and a person-centered approach when dealing with individuals who hold false beliefs or delusions. Lisa shared various care management techniques and resources, highlighting the effectiveness of approaches that focus on validation and patience rather than confrontation, while also discussing the impact of isolation and strategies for engaging with dementia patients through reminiscence and music.
