Unlocking the potential of mentoring programmes in the workplace | Mentoring series one, part two

Andrew MacKichan and Heidi Thomas discuss mentoring in a corporate setting, including how to structure this as an approach and options for evaluating programme effectiveness. They also explore supervision of mentors and the themes that emerge in this.

Andrew MacKichan is an EMCC Senior Practitioner Coach, Senior Practitioner Team Coach and supervisor. Based in Munich, Germany, he lived outside native Scotland for over 30 years (Japan and Germany). Andrew has a background in OD and L&D. Since 2009 he has worked as a coach, supporting mostly Germany-based corporates with L&D topics, including mentoring. He is also a member of EMCC Germany and supports the supervision of the membership.

Heidi Thomas holds a Masters in Coaching and Mentoring and is an EMCC EIA Senior Practitioner Coach and Mentor. Her background spans over 20 years within global talent acquisition, business growth and coaching. Heidi is passionate about supporting human development and bringing opportunities where some may not previously have thought possible. Her award-winning research on the experience of mentoring for low-income single mothers found a clear need for greater supervision and ethics within mentoring and is an ardent supporter of peer-to-peer mentoring as a means to uplifting and developing vulnerable populations.
