Charley Boorman, Mark Wilsmore & Steve Parrish at the MCN London Motorcycle Show 2025

This week on The Driven Podcast, John Marcar and Charlotte Vowden bring you three incredible guests from the Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show 2025. global motorcycle adventurer Charley Boorman, Ace Cafe reviver-turned-owner Mark Wilsmore and motorcycle racer turned commentator Steve Parish.

Charley Boorman is a household name thanks to his global adventuring on two wheels alongside his best friend and Hollywood movie star Ewan Mcgregor. In the early noughties, Charley and Ewan embarked on a new TV show that took the world by storm: Long Way Round. Almost a quarter of a century later, the two friends are still at it, and Charley joins us to talk about his new series 'Long Way Home', which airs on AppleTV+ this spring.

Mark Wilsmore is a passionate Londoner who has an unrivalled love for the city he calls home. In the early 1990s, Mark was pushed to the forefront of a revival that would turn out to be one of the most significant brand re-births of our time—the brand: The Ace Cafe, London. Mark is responsible for bringing what is arguably London's most iconic motorcycle venue back to life, which closed its doors in 1969. He was responsible for a reunion in 1994, which would later result in an official re-opening in 1997. Mark shares his story of the modern-day era of the Ace Cafe.

Steve Parrish is an acclaimed motorcycle racer who shot to fame following his success on two wheels between 1976 and 1986. After retiring from motorcycle racing, Steve went on to compete in the sport as a team manager for Yamaha while also embarking on a new challenge - Truck Racing. Steve later turned his hand to commentary, and the stories he has from all chapters of his career so far are remarkable. In this third segment of the podcast, we get a glimpse into some of those fantastic tales.

INTERVIEW TIMINGS:

Charley Boorman > 4:30 - 36:47

Mark Wilsmore > 37:29 - 1:11:32

Steve Parrish > 1:12:50 - 1:50:31

All three conversations were recorded on-site at the MCN London Motorcycle Show at the London Excel on February 14th 2025. For details on how to obtain tickets for future events, please visit https://www.mcnmotorcycleshow.com/
