The character of David in the Bible is a fascinating study. The Davids of Samuel and Chronicles are widely divergent, as is the David who emerges from Psalms. This class, taught by Rabbi David Silber will focus on a set of stories from the Bavli, considering what picture – or pictures – of David emerge as well as examining how the Talmud serves as an interpretative tool.
