If cancer has touched your life in some way, whether it be your own personal battle, or that of a loved one, you know that the road of cancer is a long one. If you are in this club that none of us asked to join, you probably know that people love to call fighting cancer a ‘journey’...but as a member of this club, you also know the real truth...that this so-called ‘journey’ of cancer really doesn’t end. Our lives are forever changed in many ways...some negative, but dare I say it, some positive, too. Join me as we talk about REAL topics around living with a cancer diagnosis as a young adult.

Sharing Authentically as a Cancer Advocate, the Highs and Lows of Being Vulnerable on Social Media, and the Realities of Fertility Preservation and Family Planning During and After Cancer

“Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.” -Brene Brown

Our guest on the podcast today is Mindy Miller! She is a young adult breast cancer survivor who has openly shared her experience on social media in an effort to help others going through similar things. It takes a lot of courage to be that vulnerable, and I know that I personally have felt very validated in my own experience and emotions after reading Mindy’s words. Today we will be talking about her experience with cancer, when and how she decided to take her experience public in order to help others, and her journey with fertility preservation during cancer treatment…something that I think unfortunately isn’t discussed nearly enough.

Please be sure to follow Mindy on Instagram @msmindymiller
