In Carry On My Wayward Pirates, we explore all of the ways that Pirates of the Caribbean have impacted later films in movie history. Those two movies in particular that we chose are Jungle Cruise and The Lone Ranger. The Lone Ranger was released ten years after its fathering movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Jungle Cruise followed only eight years later. The Lone Ranger takes place in 1933 in a San Francisco funfair where a young boy named Will has an admiration for the Lone Ranger. Will meets Comanche Tonto who revisits his fun filled adventures with the one and only Lone Ranger. The second movie, Jungle Cruise, takes place in a whole new setting. This movie brings you on a journey through the beautiful Amazon river in Porto Belo, Brazil. The three main characters, Francisco, Lily, and McGregor, search for the Tears of the Moon that haven't been found for many years. Throughout their journey, they encounter many issues. Although, these three movies all seem drastically different from the other, they may not be as different as you'd think.
