Today we focus on an essential yet often overlooked topic: How to read the prose discourses in the Bible. The Bible is not only made up of stories, poetry, or prophecy – a large portion, especially in the New Testament, consists of discourse: teaching texts, letters, speeches, and arguments. These sections require careful reading, understanding of context, and spiritual reflection. What is a prose discourse? It is a continuous teaching or letter in which ideas are built logically – like in Paul’s, James’, or Peter’s writings. They are not written merely to inform but to transform – to move the reader from understanding to obedience.Examples:Paul’s letters, explaining the Gospel and applying it to life. The Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus combines ethical teaching with divine wisdom. The speeches of Moses in Deuteronomy, connecting law and covenant.Bible Verses:“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” – 2 Timothy 3:16“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” – James 1:22This episode teaches how to read, structure, and understand prose discourse: how to recognize arguments, transitions, and the logical flow of divine truth. These are not dry texts – they are the foundation for Christian thought, discipleship, and maturity.................................#Podcast #Bibel #Prosadiskurse #BibelVerstehen #Paulusbriefe #ChristlicherPodcast #GottesWort #Bibelstudium #Lehre #Theologie#Podcast #Bible #ProseDiscourse #BibleStudy #PaulsLetters #ChristianPodcast #WordOfGod #Theology #Teaching #scripture
