The Destinations Podcast with Doni Aldine: Dr. Paulette Bethel on Identity Disruption
This episode of the Destinations Podcast with Doni Aldine features global transition expert and Culturs columnist Dr. Paulette Bethel. Bethel, the creator of the acclaimed Not Parent Expected (NPE) Identity Disruption Trauma Model, talks about how a DNA test led her to learn that her ancestry wasn't what she thought it was. Identity disruption can have positive and negative effects, Bethel says. Since discovering another side of her genetic family that she hadn't known existed, Bethel now has relationships with some of those half-siblings. "When I'm around them, there's parts of me that make more sense now," she says.
