This is a series of recorded conversations to continue to build community and cohesion within the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary. Sharing knowledge about different components of the Department, the faculty and students within and the broader academic life.
This episode will focus on Lisa Chicules, "an independent management consultant with over 20 years of experience withing with organizations to develop strategies that leverage their core strengths and build actionable implementation plans that deliver results". Our Department Head, Dr. Fiona Clement, met Lisa while working together on the Board for the Drop-In Centre and have built a blossoming professional relationship leading Fiona to ask if Lisa would come on board to help develop a 4-year strategic plan for the Department of Community Health Sciences. The focus of this discussion was to “soft-launch” the strategic plan process (reminding folks that we are moving forward and there is ongoing activity), build people’s understanding of what a strategic plan is and why they are important, share what people can expect during a strategic plan process, and plant seeds about how people can be involved and provide input throughout the process.
