Establishing a Loyal Music Scene with Jason Carpenter

Establishing a Loyal Music Scene with Jason Carpenter

The latest podcast interview is with a founder of N.E.C. Productions, Jason Carpenter, a successful entrepreneur in London, Ontario that has helped the electronic scene grow and flourish in my hometown. Jason is an experienced business owner with a demonstrated history of working in the events services industry. He's skilled in advertising, sales, accounting, promotional marketing, and party planning. I was lucky to have the pleasure of sitting down with Jason to learn about how he's been able to create one of Canada's thriving music scenes, supporting countless DJs over the past 20 years by helping them launch successful careers.

N.E.C. Productions is one of Southwestern Ontario's first event planning and marketing team specializing in electronic music. Keeping it dirty since 2001, with a full roster of talented local artists ready to shine. Whether it's a festival, a club night, or a dark basement, the party is our playground. N.E.C. Productions help in supporting the community, the artists, and the music.

Jason and I dig deep into the history of N.E.C. Productions, differences between the rave scene over when he started compared to the last 5 years, as well as the importance of building a loyal local following. With COVID-19 putting a full stop of live events, the ever entrepreneur, Jason has pivoted, of course, and now organizes live streams on Twitch every weekend to help keep the music going and giving a platform for DJs to share their new music and fresh sets.

I had a lot of fun catching up with Jason on the show and look forward to sharing this podcast with you!
