Felicia Singh - Indo-Caribbean American Council NYC District 32 Queens, NYC.

Felicia Singh is an educator, the proud daughter of working-class immigrants, and a lifelong resident of District 32. Singh is running for New York City Council on a platform of education and environmental justice, supporting taxi drivers and small businesses, transportation accessibility, and community building. District 32 Felicia Singh has been an educator for a decade and has diverse experience teaching abroad, on Long Island and in NYC. Her teaching experience includes co-leading the development and implementation of culturally responsive teaching and professional development for teachers and staff. Her work inside and outside of the classroom has been grounded in her firm commitment to empowering communities. She spent two years, 2013-2015, serving the United States in China with the Peace Corps. Upon her return, Felicia continued serving her community as Civic Action Coordinator for Indo-Caribbean Alliance and Vice-President of Our Neighbors Civic Association of Ozone Park by conducting voter registration drives and community service projects. She believes in electing more women into elected office and demonstrated this through her work as Queens Borough Director of Amplify Her from 2019-2020. Felicia was elected to serve as a member of Assembly District 23โ€™s County Committee. In 2020, she served as a member of the Southeast Queens Complete Count Committee, where she worked alongside local leaders and the U.S. Census Bureau to ensure communities like hers were both fully counted and allocated sufficient funding. She also volunteered with Queens Mutual Aid by delivering groceries to neighbors in Ozone Park. Felicia was hired as a community consultant with the National Black Leadership Commission on Health to do COVID outreach and test and tracing in Ozone Park and Far Rockaway.
