School Trustee Richard Hehr | Interview

In our first interview on this podcast we’re joining Richard Hehr to chat about the Calgary Board of Education, changes in how our schools are funded by the provincial government, the reforms happening through Bill 15 (the "Choice in Education Act"), how Calgarians are changing the names of their neighbourhood schools, and the return to the classroom during the Covid-19 pandemic. Richard is the trustee for Wards 8 and 9 at the Calgary Board of Education, which covers the downtown core of Calgary and the east end, and is an educator of 41 years -- 30 of which at the Calgary Public School District.

Listen in as Vincent, the Membership Chair for the Canadian Club of Calgary, chats with this long-serving educator, public servant, and advocate for public schools.

Music in this episode was the clip "Blue Son" by Blue Dot Sessions.
