The Lizzie Borden Murders

The Lizzie Borden murders took place on August 4, 1892, in Fall River, Massachusetts, and became one of the most infamous crimes in American history. Andrew and Abby Borden, Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother, were brutally hacked to death with a hatchet in their own home. Lizzie Borden, a 32-year-old woman at the time, was accused of the murders and stood trial, which captivated the nation. Despite strong circumstantial evidence, including Lizzie's strained relationship with her parents and inconsistencies in her statements, the jury acquitted her, and the case remains unsolved. The Lizzie Borden murders continue to intrigue people to this day, inspiring numerous books, movies, and discussions about the true nature of the crime and the enigmatic figure of Lizzie Borden.
