She completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed a general surgery residency at New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital. She then went to the University of Nebraska for an abdominal transplant and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery fellowship. She is originally from Zimbabwe. She is a proud mother and wife. When she is not in the hospital, you can find her gardening, reading, writing, traveling, or hiking.
