Beirut Explosion: Who was to Blame? Government Lies and Conspiracies (Co-Conspirators Podcast #15)

The recent explosion in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, shocked the world and saw thousands of citizens take to the streets in protest against their government. This tragic event truly highlighted the corruption entrenched within the Lebanese Government, and the series of failings that led to such an avoidable disaster.

In this episode, we examine some of the conspiracy theories that have proven themselves to be true, exposing the times where world governments have been caught lying. Calum unearths the shocking story behind the deadly ammonium nitrate cargo that caused the devastating explosion in Lebanon. How did it end up getting abandoned in a port-side warehouse, and why did the government ignore numerous warnings about the danger it posed? Luke recounts the time where people thought the world was on the brink of World War III, following the Iranian Government's decision to shoot down the Ukrainian passenger jet Flight 752.  Finally, John negotiates the uncomfortable topic of false flag terror. Are our governments staging or manipulating terrorist attacks for political gain?

Join us as we delve deeper into the conspiracy theories surrounding the current global pandemic. We aim to offer an informal yet informative insight into some of the explanations and suggestions that the internet has to offer, discussing the factual and the far fetched, in a light-hearted conversation between three close mates. With theories ranging from the plausible to the preposterous, can we be certain that anything is 100% true?
